Oh it's so nice to have something to look forward to!
The local (and only) goth/industrial club here in Columbus is throwing a masquerade! I ransacked my closet to find whatever I could that would make a great costume and see what kind of mask I can make to go along with what I own....lack of moneys means no new outfit, but new mask, that I can do.
After a few days of contemplating what I could assemble, I settled on the "Queen of Hearts" and set out to make a mask to match the red satin and black lacey number I already own. I've damn near got it all done too. Just finishing up the last few details, adding some sparkleys and ribbons and my crown. I never knew that when I tried to find heart shaped beads and gems it would be this hard! It seems when I don't need them, they're everywhere!
Jeremy is going all out as well. The man is a genius sometimes. He's dumping everything he can think of into, or more so onto his mask idea. I can't wait to see it finished! Using nothing more then a paint stripping gun (overly hot hair dyer, if you ask me) gloves, vice grips and a few shaping tools, he's molded a near perfect likeness of his own face out of a sheet of plastic!! He's adding demon horns, reassembling that of thin rams horns, and still in debate on the colors he'll use, but so far...it's awesome!
We're also putting together a Tiki mask for our roomie whom we're dragging along with us.
If this party turns out to be as much fun as the making of all this stuff...it's gonna be one good night!
